Farm Equipment Auction Results: March 2023

While many farmers are preparing for planting, we’re digging in to the equipment auction data from March. Last month, we listed 734 auctions with a total 17,732 lots and saw row crop tractors and planters bringing in top dollar.

Tractors

Sullivan Auctioneers sold a 2020 John Deere 8RX 410 for $490,000 on March 9, 2023.

In March, the average list price for John Deere 8RX 410s at dealerships (from 26 available listings at 501-1000 hours) was $570,975.

A 2020 John Deere 1775NT took the top spot for planter sales in March. Ed’s Machinery sold this planter for $260,000 on March 10, 2023.

We featured a 3,200-hour one-owner John Deere 4955 and a 4,900-hour two-owner John Deere 4440 in March, both for sale through Sullivan Auctioneers, and asked you what they would bring at auction.

Guesses in the comments were $30,000 on the 4955 and $41,000, $60,000 and $78,000 on the 4440. Here’s what they actually brought in:

This 2011 John Deere 9670 STS sold on March 2, 2023, by Helberg and Nuss Auctions & Realty, was predicted by Tractor Zoom to sell for $103,000 and the actual sale price came in at $106,000.
