The history of Bobcat begins with two brothers — Louis & Cyril Keller — who built custom, small machinery for farmers in Minnesota to plow snow. In 1956, they were approached by a turkey farmer to create a machine to clear manure from the second floor of a barn, which would eventually become the first three-wheeled compact loader.
