Description
Spec Value Capacity 540 cu. ft. Width 100 in Height 90 in front door and rear commodity door. Dual discharge flat conveyor. Double augers (twin screws): The 5540 model uses two augers to improve mixing action and throughput. Hurricane auger design: The augers have a “Hurricane” style that includes cutouts to allow material recirculation and better mixing. Tub & floor construction: The mixing tub is built with heavy wear-resistant steel (high abrasion, acid resistant) and straight walls to reduce compaction. Gearbox / drive system: Power is transmitted via a PTO (Power Take-Off) through a gearbox; Penta uses planetary gearboxes (for twin or triple auger models) and offers optional torque limiters or shear bolt protection. Frame & structural steel: The frame is built from solid steel (½″, ¾″ North American steel) rather than hollow tubing to increase durability and reduce condensation issues.
